MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number)
A unique reference number (6-10 digits) for your gas supply point.
What is an MPRN?
An MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number) is a unique identifier for gas supply points in the UK. It's the gas equivalent of an MPAN and contains between 6 and 10 digits.
Why is it important?
- Switching gas suppliers: Required to identify your specific supply
- Accurate billing: Links your usage to your account
- Change of Tenancy: Used to register new occupiers
Where to find your MPRN
Your MPRN can be found:
- On your gas bill (look for "MPRN" or "Meter Point Reference")
- By contacting your gas supplier
- Through the Find My Supplier service
