What is Change of Tenancy?

Change of Tenancy (CoT) is the official process of registering with an energy supplier as the new occupier of a property. It transfers responsibility for the supply from the previous tenant to you.

Why is it important?

Without registering a CoT:

• You may be billed for the previous tenant's usage
  • Previous tenant debt could appear on your account
    • You'll be stuck on expensive deemed rates
      • You won't be able to switch to a new supplier
